CLM Engineering Associates has personally handled numerous forensic engineering claims for the insurance company including several of the major carriers. These said claims relate to damage ensued from construction defects such as inferior siding, structural beam connections and/or attachments to improper foundation design and/or construction.
In addition, the company has is familiar with and has evaluated unsafe construction practices and/or conditions related to such matters as improper and/or lack of underpinning related to excavation and foundation work and differential settlement issues and concerns.
The firm has also been engaged to handle numerous storm damage claims related to Hurricane Irene and other natural catastrophes in addition to being trained as part of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) for shoreline residential inspections. They always provide prompt and the utmost of professional service.
The company president has more than 14 years of experience as a civil engineer. His experience includes piping design/stress analysis for nuclear power plant containment structures throughout the State of Connecticut. As an officer in the US Army National Guard and Reserves he supervised and managed the reconstruction of perimeter fencing and roadway improvements in the Otay Mountains between San Diego, California and Tijuana, Mexico.
Further engagements include storm drainage and roadway improvement design and reconstruction at the Stones Ranch Military Reservation in East Lyme, Connecticut. After graduation from the US Army Officer Engineering School at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, he worked as a construction manager for Sailor’s Housing in Groton, Connecticut and managed the renovation and addition to the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Newington, Connecticut.
Other work includes the management of telecommunications projects in New York City as an agent to Verizon Communications. He has served as Director of Project Management for water and sewer distribution systems projects while working for a contractor to the NYC Department of Design and Construction. Also, he has performed building site surveys and architectural restoration reviews for various clients while working for a consulting engineer in Manhattan.
This work included extensive code and zoning review/analysis.
Currently, he is involved with the construction cost consulting for wastewater treatment plants for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. He also has handled numerous forensic engineering claims for law firms and insurance companies.
